Interlibrary Loan  Book /Article Request Form

It is a service for our readers by providing books and/or articles that do not exist in our library from other information centers in the country or abroad. In this concept, the information centers that we cooperate with are:  

             The British Library Document Supply Center

            Online Computer Library Center (OCLC)

            National Academic Networking and Information Center (ULAKBIM)

            Middle East Technical University Library       

              Bilkent University Libarary

             Sabancý University Library

Interlibrary Loan service is a valuable process creating an opportunity to the researchers of accessing the information not available in the host library. For this reason, it is very important for our library to contribute ‘the spread of information through sharing’ and cooperating with other information centers in the world through the interlibrary loan service.

Rules for Inter Library Loan: 

How to use this service: 

The requested book and/or article is searched from the library catalog first to check the availability status. Once the material is located through the search catalog, the staff in charge of the Interlibrary Loan Service requests the material from the institution where it is available.  

How to make requests:

The users who want to request book and/or materials through interlibrary loan service has to fill in and sign the ‘Request Form’ provided by the Library Directorate.

Shipping and Postage:

All expenses (for book and/or article copy) are the responsibility of the reader who makes the request.

Ø  For Articles:

       Article Copy Price + Shipping expenses + 15% Value Added Tax (KDV)

Ø  For Books
Shipping expenses + 15% Value Added Tax (KDV)  

Delivery time: 

Ø       Books from Turkey: shipped by Private Cargo; 5-15 days

Ø       Article Copies from Turkey: sent by postal mail. 15-30 days

Ø       Books from abroad: Shipped via  Private Cargo; 30-45 days

Ø       Article Copies from abroad: 15-30 days 

Period for article delivery is an estimated time. There can be delays caused by the mail service or the intensity at the centers where the process takes place. 

Transmitting  articles and books from our Library: 

Our Library tries to meet the material requests of the information centers in the country (TRNC Universities) and/or in Turkey and abroad. Theses, reference resources, materials in the Music Listening Room cannot be loaned.  

-Book requests: 

Maximum 5 books for a period of 1 month can be borrowed by the Libraries in the TRNC (according to the protocol made with TRNC Universities) and the University Libraries in Turkey.  

-Article Requests: 

The cost of photocopies is ………YTL per page. Please deposit the total to the following account number ……………………………….. at …………………………. (name of bank) and fax your invoice to the Library Directorate.
