The Chronicle of Higher Education is Now Available for EMU Community – Thanks to Our Library

We are pleased to announce you that, our library is subscribed to The Chronicle of Higher Education platform and the database is now available for EMU Community.

The Chronicle of Higher Education is academe's most trusted resource for independent journalism, career development, and forward-looking intelligence. Since its founding in 1966, The Chronicle has grown to serve millions of educators, administrators, researchers, and policymakers who rely on its insights to lead, teach, learn, and innovate.

The Chronicle's independent newsroom – the nation's largest dedicated to covering colleges and universities – is home to award-winning journalists and data analysts with a passion for serving audiences with indispensable news and actionable insights on issues that matter.  The Chronicle publishes online content every weekday. 

Our subscription provides access to the Chronicle's online content, magazine, daily news, newsletters, letters, reports and guides, and professional development programs (workshops & training sessions).

Important: You must create a Chronicle.com account to gain full access to all content, including articles, newsletters, job alerts, and account benefits.

To create your Chronicle.com account - follow these steps:

  1. Go to and Chronicle.com and click on the “Sign In" link at top, right-hand side of the page.
  2. Click on the “Sign Up" link to create a free account using your institutional or organizational email address. 
  3. Activate your account by confirming your email address in the “The Chronicle: Confirm your email address" email.
  4. Sign In to your account when prompted.

 By signing in to your Chronicle.com account, you will gain access to the Chronicle's content and valuable services will be available for you. Such as;

  • Special issues such as The Almanac of Higher Education and The Trends Report are included, 
  • An exclusive AI research assistant tool to streamline search from over 140,000+ articles in Chronicle's archives. 
  • A searchable database of articles and essays dating back to the 1990s.
  • Two Chronicle reports from the online store that can be exchanged annually for newer titles. If you have not made your selections, please review the current titles found HERE and send us the titles you've chosen in a reply to this email.
